Science shouldn’t feel like a foreign language (even if it sometimes sounds like one). I bring over 25 years of classroom and tutoring experience to help learners untangle complex concepts in General Science, Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics—with a bit of humor and a lot of heart.
I’m certified in all five disciplines, trained through the Louisiana Systemic Initiatives Program (LaSIP) in Physical Science, in Advanced Placement (AP) programs in both Biology and Physics, and have been honored with awards and accolades, including:
🏅 President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching Math and Physics nominee
🌟 American Petroleum Institute, Delta Chapter Distinguished Educator Award recipient
💫 Terrebonne Foundation for Academic Excellence Inspirational Teacher Award recipient
My approach blends critical thinking, real-world connections, and a confidence-first mindset—because science isn’t just about memorizing formulas, it’s about learning how to think like a scientist. It's about being a problem-solver.
Ms. Mills was my high school AP Biology teacher. I have always had a love of science, but her biology class my senior year of high school reinforced my fascination with it and pushed me to pursue a STEM education after high school. She taught me valuable scientific critical reasoning skills and gave me a solid foundation to go into my undergraduate biology studies. I have completed a bachelor's and master's degree in biological science and am in doctoral school now. I still remember Ms. Mills's class as where my career path in STEM began and I have carried with me the passion that she instilled with her teaching throughout my academic career.

Ms. Mills has always been an inspiring and deeply dedicated teacher who truly cares about her students' understanding. I took Ms. Mills's AP physics class during my last year of high school when I was still figuring out what I wanted to pursue in college. Her enthusiasm for teaching sparked my interest in science as a viable career option.
